The Wesselman Nature Society is an organization which stands to protect the 200-acre tract in Evansville that is formally known as the Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve. This non-profit organization was founded in 1972, and since then has acquired two more preserves to protect from environmental harm: the Howell Wetlands, and the Canoe Evansville.
About the Wesselman Nature Society
The goal of the Wesselman Nature Society is to provide a rich, educational experience about the importance of land preservation and caring for the environment for all its members and guests. In addition to this, the Wesselman Nature Society strives to create a fun recreational environment for all who frequent these preserves. For this reason, the Wesselman Nature Society offers educational programs for children, adults, and families. In addition to this, there are also programs available for school events and scouts, which creates an inclusive atmosphere, granting everyone the ability to participate in aiding the environment.
Events are frequently hosted by the Wesselman Nature Society. Some of these upcoming events include: The Bug Fest on July 21st, Recycle Saturdays, and much more. Some events, like Recycle Saturdays, are recurring and allow people to consistently have a convenient place and time to recycle their goods. Others, such as the Bug Fest on July 21st, consist of family-friendly gatherings wherein you can learn about a particular genre or family of specimens, while acquiring a greater appreciation for the environment.
