The Audubon Museum & Nature Center is located at 3100 US Highway 41 North. The two imperative places to visit in Henderson Kentucky are set in a 1938 stone building developed like a chateau. About the Audubon Museum & Nature Center

Audubon Museum, also a state park, celebrates the work and life, also preserves the legacy of the most famous resident of Henderson, John James Audubon. The exhibits are mostly his own accomplishments but there is also a timeline of his entire family and contemporary world events during his lifetime. There are three galleries at the museum, chronicling the story of the Audubon family, covering their time of residence in Henderson from 1810 to 1819. There are more than two hundred items at the museum including his bird’s masterpiece. There are several original artifacts and artworks.

Admission to the museum and nature center is $12 for a family of two adults and two children. Individual adults pay $5 and seniors pay $4. Military personnel, serving or retired, pay just $4. Children with college ID and aged six to seventeen pay $3. Children under the age of five and members of Friends of Audubon get free admission. If you are staying at the park then you qualify for a discount. There are group rates for tours, docent-led or self-guided. While at the museum and nature center, you should explore as many of the over thousand items in the collection, including original lithographs, copper plates used for engraving, paintings, manuscripts, family letters, rare books, heirloom silver, clothing and hair jewelry. The nature center also has an observation room where wildlife enthusiasts would have a satiating time. There is a theater and learning center.
